Share your experience of living with Vitiligo

Hi Everyone
I've been approached about an opportunity to talk about life with Vitiligo and I thought I'd open up the opportunity to others living with the condition to see if anyone else wants to get involved.

Award winning TV production company Hello Halo are working with the BBC to put together a show about living with Vitiligo. They are looking for people to talk about their experiences and put you in touch with each other so that you can support each other through the difficult times many of us face when living with Vitiligo.

Talking about your experiences with Vitiligo may not be your 'thing', but my personal view is that anything that can be done to raise awareness of the condition, so that we can take away the stigma and judgement that we can sometimes face, can only ever be a good thing. Whether you're happy to be in front of the camera or not, it's great that mainstream TV is starting to focus on this little known condition. If as a result of this show, one person feels better because they face less judgement, then it will have been really valuable.

If you live in the UK and have Vitiligo (or know somebody who has) then you might want to drop a line to the production company on [email protected]. The production company will have a confidential, initial chat with you about your experiences and they will take it from there.

It's not physically debilitating but mentally corrodes your confidence

Absolutely Lesley, my confidence was at rock bottom for a few years as my vitiligo spread quite rapidly however once my patches are covered I feel a lot better about my myself xx

I also find I lack confidence my vitiligo has spread rapidly therefore hard to always cover it .some days I think blow it and I don't cover it but by the end of the day iam slowly going into my shell and I'm 63 so I feel for the youngsters who have it ..my grandson is only 10 and he has it some of his hair is already grey but he has a great attitude about it he says we arspecial
