My Vitiligo Journey
Nearly 30 years ago, I noticed my skin losing its natural pigment. At first, I knew little about vitiligo—but as the white patches spread, my world changed. I loved sun-soaked holidays and the glow of a year-round tan, but suddenly, those things were off-limits. Sunbeds only made the patches more visible, and the hardest part wasn’t just the lifestyle shift—it was the hit to my confidence.
Every morning became a battle to cover my patches, often while juggling the chaos of getting two little ones ready for school. I wondered if anyone else felt this way. Later, I learned that around 50 million people worldwide live with vitiligo.
I tried everything—corrective creams, sunless tanners, endless combinations of products. Some worked temporarily, but none ticked all the boxes. Corrective creams were expensive and time-consuming. Tanners left me orange and uneven. After years of frustration, I decided to create the solution I’d been searching for.
That’s how VITILIGLOW™ was born.
I worked with a chemist and manufacturer to design a product specifically for people with vitiligo—something quick, affordable, and effective. It had to include SPF for safe sun exposure, stay put without transferring, withstand sweat, and wash off easily at the end of the day. In short, it had to fit real life.
Since launching in 2013, VITILIGLOW™ has grown into more than a product—it’s a community. Through blogs, social media, and forums, I’ve connected with incredible people who share their stories and transformations. Your feedback and photos inspire me every day and help us keep improving the formula and application.
