Vitiligo Society Open Day 2018

VITILIGLOW™ is delighted to support the Vitiligo Society Open Day 2018. We’ll be exhibiting at the event in London on Saturday 1st December, which is sure to be a really exciting day. You can book your tickets here, but here’s the agenda for the day:

10:05-11:00
Lee Thomas (Emmy award-winning entertainment reporter, keynote speaker and patron of the Vitiligo Society) will be talking about dealing with vitiligo in Hollywood.

11:00-11:30
Simon Marlin will be hosting a talk on living with vitiligo in the spotlight. He’s one half of DJ duo, The Shapeshifters, and has lived with vitiligo for many years.

11:55-12:45
Vitiligo Society Trustee, Natalie Ambersley, will be hosting the guest panel discussion with some fantastic speakers, including friend of VITILIGLOW™, Joti. We’re excited about seeing Joti on stage, and this will be a great opportunity to bring people together to share their own experiences of vitiligo.

12:45-14:00
The 15-minute Annual General Meeting, then a lunch break.

14:00-14:45
Simon Parker will be presenting his ground-breaking mobile app called Skin Deep. It links meditation, breathing and emotional support for multiple skin conditions.

14:45-15:15
Award-winning photographer, Brock Elbank, will be hosting the Vitiligo Portrait Series Update and the 2020 WVD Exhibition.

15:15-15:30
Professor Celia Moss OBE will be presenting the newly-created Children’s Vitiligo booklet series, which will help children and young people understand and learn to accept their skin.

15:30-16:15
Fabio Zucchelli, research associate at UWE Bristol’s Centre for Appearance Research, will be discussing psychological flexibility.

16:30-17:10
Dr Viktoria Eleftheriadou is a specialist in vitiligo at the Centre of Evidence-Based Dermatology. She will be talking about the outcomes for vitiligo trials, which I’m sure will be a very interesting, informative discussion.

VITILIGLOW™ is keen to support the Vitiligo Society. We always enjoy coming along to meet new people and find out about the latest developments in research and the general support on offer. I’ve always found vitiligo to be a very personal journey – I prefer to keep my patches covered up, which led me to create VITILIGLOW™. Others are happy and comfortable in their own skin and don’t feel the need to cover up, and this is exactly what I love about the Vitiligo Society events. They bring together a wide range of people, and I’m always inspired by their stories and what’s brought them to come along for the day.

Having been on TV a few times and spoken quite openly about how vitiligo makes me feel, I’m really keen to hear more about Lee’s experience because he spends so much time in Hollywood, where perfection is the standard.

I’ll be at the Vitiligo Society Open Day with Bruce Green, the supplier of the VITILIGLOW™ products. If you’re planning on attending, you can book your ticket here!

Best wishes,

Vitiliglow™ Prep/Remover Product

Picture
Picture
We’ve had so many positive responses from customers about Vitiliglow™ recently, which is brilliant. As you all know, I spend a lot of time working to make the product the very best it can be for us all, so to hear you say that it stays well on your skin and can be worn for days even with careful showering, means such a lot to me.

We recently launched our new Prep/Remover product to help you when you need to take Vitiliglow™ off. The Prep/Remover is a carefully developed, dual-purpose gel, designed to help you get the best out of the product. It’s fantastic to hear that you’re so pleased with the long-lasting hold of Vitiliglow™, but it is useful to be able to take off the camouflage product when you need to, or if you want to start a fresh application.

Prepping the skin
Firstly, use the Prep/Remover gel before applying your Vitiliglow™ camouflage cream. Gently smooth a thin layer of the gel over clean, dry skin to remove excess oils and build-up of debris or residual product left behind from previous Vitiliglow™ applications.

Once you’ve completed this step, your skin will be clean and prepped, ready for you to apply your chosen shade of Vitiliglow™.

Removing Vitliglow™
When you’re ready to remove Vitiliglow™, use a cotton pad to wipe the gel over your skin in small, circular motions. This will start to dissolve and remove Vitiliglow™ from your skin which really helps as we have designed the formula to be water resistant and rub proof. If you have larger areas covered with Vitiliglow™, you may want to use the Prep/Remover product on a larger cotton cloth or flannel.

The gel gently breaks down the product, allowing you to wipe it away easily, and preventing the need for any exfoliation or harsh rubbing, meaning your skin is left free from Vitiliglow™ but remains hydrated, clean and soft.

We’ve also discovered that the versatile Prep/Remover product can be used to remove Vitiliglow™ from your clothing or carpet, too! Simply rub the Prep/Remover into the fabric or upholstery and it’ll help to lift the camouflage product out.

Can anyone use the Prep/Remover?
The Prep/Remover product is suitable for all skin types and, as with all Vitiliglow™ products, it is cruelty-free. The product is also non-greasy, non-perfumed and non-drying, which means it keeps your skin feeling soft and supple, ready for your next Vitiliglow™ application.

Customer feedback
Customers are already talking about the Prep/Remover, and we’re delighted to hear your positive comments about the newly launched product. In September 2018, Julia let us know that she thinks it’s a “really useful product for removing all trace of previous applications and any residual grease on the skin.” Tracy also left us some feedback, saying that the product “preps the skin and removes all traces of Vitiliglow efficiently.”

Looking after our skin
Our skin accounts for around 15 per cent of our body weight. We each have around 300 million skin cells, and skin is the largest human organ. It’s important that we look after it, which is why all Vitiliglow™ products are carefully developed and thoughtfully formulated to keep skin healthy while helping you feel comfortable and confident in your own skin.

You can purchase the Prep/Remover product here.
