Update for customers from VITILIGLOW®

Update for customers from VITILIGLOW®

Hi Everyone
I just wanted to write a quick blog post to keep you updated with all the developments at Vitiliglow recently. Firstly, I hope that you’re keeping safe and well during this difficult time and we hope that the period of social isolation isn’t causing you too many difficulties.

I’ve been a bit quiet on here recently as there has been quite a lot going on. Some of you might already know, but alongside VITILIGLOW®, I have a full time job as a partnership manager for a mental healthcare charity. I spend Monday – Friday 9 – 5.30pm working with NHS case managers who are responsible for the care and treatment of patients with complex mental health conditions.

This isn’t an NHS service (it is a charity), however as any healthcare provider it’s facing unprecedented challenges at the moment. My day-to-day work has changed quite a bit and last week I spent time working to ensure that the frontline healthcare staff were given the appropriate personal protection equipment that they need to keep themselves and the patients safe.

I’ve also refreshed my training so that I can help out with patient activities on the ward. We’re expecting to lose a number of our nursing team as they go into isolation if they develop Cornonavirus symptoms, so I’ll be helping out with the patients where I can. Obviously it will be a challenge as they are used to going out to do various activities, but hopefully we will be able to keep them occupied on the wards!

What does this mean for VITILIGLOW®?
We’re still happy to take orders. Although we aren’t allowed to go out, many of us just feel more ‘like ourselves’ when we’re able to cover up our patches. You can still place orders via our online shop, but please bear with us because orders may take slightly longer to reach you.

For now, Workbridge (who pack and post your VITILIGLOW® orders) are still open for restricted business, however some of the staff have had to self-isolate, which may cause a few delays to orders been shipped.

We had some great plans for social media lined up this year, including a Q&A with psychotherapist Liz Ritchie, who was featured in Jesy Nelson’s Odd One Out documentary. We’re disappointed that we’ve had to put this on hold, but our priority is to keep everyone safe. We’ll hope to set this up again when life returns to normal.

We hope that you’re all keeping safe and well and we’ll keep you all updated if anything changes.

Best wishes
Polly Gotschi
