Vitiliglow is delighted to support the Vitiligo Society again this year and we’ll be exhibiting at the conference and AGM in London on Saturday 1st December. The event is shaping up to be a great one – you can book your tickets here, but here’s a few of the highlights!
Emmy award-winning Entertainment Reporter and patron of the Vitiligo Society, Lee Thomas is the keynote speaker. Lee uses his profile and status to help raise awareness of Vitiligo and he will talk about how he has coped with Vitiligo in the public eye.
Fellow trustee Simon Parker will present the ground-breaking mobile app Skin Deep which link meditation, breathing and emotional support for multiple skin conditions. As research has showed that mindfulness and meditation can have a positive impact on the effectiveness of skin treatments, we are keen to hear what he’s got to say!
The panel discussion, led by trustee Natalie Ambersley will bring people together to share experiences of Vitiligo and how it can affect their daily life.
In addition to medical experts updating us on the scientific study of Vitiligo, guests will hear from Celia Moss who will present the newly created Children’s Vitiligo booklet which will help children and young people understand and accept their skin.
Vitiliglow is keen to support the Vitiligo Society and we always enjoy coming along to meet new people and find out about the latest developments in research and the general support on offer. I’ve always found Vitiligo to be a very personal journey – for me I prefer to keep my patches covered up, which led me to create Vitiliglow. Others are happy and comfortable in their own skin and don’t feel the need to cover up – what I love about the Vitiligo Society events is that it brings a wide range of people together and I’m always inspired by listening to their stories and what’s bought them to come along for the day.
Having been on TV a few times and spoken quite openly about how Vitiligo makes me feel, I’m really keen to hear more about Lee’s experience, especially as he spends a lot of time in Hollywood, where perfection is the standard.
I’ll be at the Open Day with Bruce Green, the supplier of the Vitiliglow products. As I’ve mentioned in social media and blog posts recently, we’ve extended our current shade range to include warm shades (suitable for people with pink skin tones) and cool shades (suitable for people with yellow/olive skin tones).
If you’re planning to come along, please book your ticket here and drop us a line in the blog comments to let us know and if there’s anything specific you’d like to know!
